Gua Sha

Gua Sha is an East Asian healing technique. “Gua” means to scrape or rub. “Sha” is a reddish , elevated, millet like skin rash (petechiae). Sha is used to describe blood stasis or stagnation in the subcutaneous tissue before and after it is raised as petechiae. Gua Sha is used when there is aching, tenderness and or a knotty feeling in the muscles. In addition to resolving musculoskeletal pain, Gua Sha is used to treat as well as prevent the common cold, flu, bronchitis, asthma, and most chronic disorders involving pain and congestion of Qi and blood.

In most cases the client feels an immediate shift in their pain or sense of constraint. Gua Sha promotes circulation and normalizes metabolic processes.

You may arrive in a sports bra or tank top so that clothing doesn’t have to be removed if working the upper back and neck.

Soothing Scalp Massage

This sensory experience is total tranquility. Spirit lifting ylang ylang, sandalwood, lime, petigrain and clary sage essential oils pleasure and excite the senses. Hydrating and conditioning base oils including evening primrose, virgin coconut oil, apricot kernel, jojoba and avocado are massaged into the hair and scalp with a variety of massage tools and techniques. Indulge your senses as the warm oil is brushed through your hair with a wood pin brush. Hand and facial massage take this experience to the next level. During that time, your head is wrapped in a heated towel. The warmth allows for the oils to be absorbed readily into the scalp and hair as stress is “melted” away. This massage ritual will be one you’ll always remember. When booking this appointment online, choose the Exclusive Services category.
